Youth Membership & Parental Consent

For applicants under 18.

The applicant and their parent or legal guardian should fill out this form together. Supporting Member (any age): social participation in community spaces and events, with parent or guardian consent. Jedi Member (age 17 only): participation in the Seeker Path, with parent or guardian consent. Each application is approved by the IJF Council at its discretion, based on the applicant's maturity and readiness. Youth Program (ages 13 and up): coming soon. Knighthood is open only to members aged 22 and older. Before continuing, the applicant (if age appropriate) and parent/ guardian should both review the Jedi Compass, the Code of Conduct, and the Constitution and Bylaws found under Policy Documents.

Participation and Safety

I agree that: my young person will be in IJF spaces (Discord, Zoom, etc.) that include adults; IJF adults will not hold private one-on-one conversations with minors; I may review my young person's IJF communications and contact the Council with concerns; minors must be accompanied at in-person events by me or an adult I name below; and no member may give my young person a ride without my advance written permission.

WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY I, the parent or legal guardian named above, understand that participation in activities organized by the International Jedi Federation (IJF) and its Recognized Chapters is voluntary. These activities may include events, gatherings, classes, workshops, training exercises, and online discussions, and may involve physical, mental, or emotional engagement. Participation does not create any employment, contractual, or agency relationship between my young person and the IJF or its Recognized Chapters. I understand that participation may involve inherent and unforeseeable risks, including but not limited to personal injury, illness, emotional distress, property damage, property loss, or other harm. On behalf of my young person, I accept these risks, known or unknown. I am responsible for my young person's health, medical care, and insurance coverage. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless the IJF, its Recognized Chapters, and their officers, directors, agents, and volunteers from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or causes of action arising from or related to my young person's participation. This release does not apply to gross negligence or intentional misconduct. If any part of this agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining parts stay in effect.

IJF activities, including online classes and meetings, may be photographed or recorded. The IJF will use first names only and will never publish a young person's full name.

I understand that no compensation will be paid. I may change or withdraw this consent at any time by notifying the IJF in writing. A withdrawal applies to future use, and the IJF will make reasonable efforts to remove materials it controls. If I choose No, I understand that incidental or background capture may still occur, and the IJF will make reasonable efforts to remove or blur it when asked.

In an emergency when I can't be reached, I authorize IJF event organizers to seek emergency medical treatment for my young person.

Privacy and Information Use

The information on this form is used only to manage membership, keep members safe, and contact the applicant's family. The IJF will limit access to the IJF Council and, where needed, the leaders of the applicant's Chapter; will never sell or share this information outside the IJF; will keep contact details for young members to a minimum; and will delete this information on request when membership ends. A parent or guardian may ask to review, correct, or delete their young person's information at any time by contacting the IJF.
